Lost Time Injury Frequency (LTIF)
All crew injuries are reported and investigated. Lost Time Injuries reporting is based on the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) definition. LTIs are considered a key safety awareness indicator.
Near accident and LTI reporting is used in a preventive effort. Statistics are generated from SAFIR to monitor the situation and give guidance with respect to trends.
Trend monitoring in turn gives guidance as to actions needed and areas requiring increased focus.
UMS has a Safety KPI of 'zero accidents' resulting in repatriation and LTIF below 1.5.
