A launching and naming ceremony of newbuilding SC219 from Tsuneishi Heavy Industries, Inc., Cebu took place at Tsuneishi’s Cebu yard on Monday 16 June. Godmother Hanne Lund - JJUC chairman Jørgen Lund’s wife - named the vessel Lunita.
The TESS58 type supramax bulk carrier is the first of four vessels contracted by UM Bulk AS, a 50/50 JV between the J.J. Ugland companies, Grimstad and Mitsubishi Corporation, Tokyo. Lunita is scheduled for delivery in September 2014.
